David Thomas McNaught and Dave Mansel are the Master minds behind McNaught Guitars produced in Locust, North Carolina for such Artist as John5, Journey, Godsmack, and Shinedown. McNaught produces some of the finest sounding instruments on the planet. They come in a variety of body configurations and are all fully customizable. If you have a concept, McNaught can make it come true.
Here is another great Single Cutaway model from McNaught. This time it has a Diamond Quilt Maple top with a Cherry Burst finish that really shows off the depth of this amazing top. It is equipped with all Gold Hardware with the body and neck bound in Quilt Maple. The headstock has matching Quilt Maple and comes with Gold Sperzel Locking tuners.
The fretboard is done in Indian Rosewood with Off Set MOP. This guitar comes with a solid set through neck that securely attaches the neck to the body. Some manufacturers offer varying degrees of a set neck instead of bolting the neck on, but the length and mass of a McNaught neck can only be described as massive, and the amount of sustain and tone you get is a direct result.
We originally choose Duncan Antiquity pickups for this guitar to go with its vintage Cherry Burst look, but the McNaught guys convinced us to try a set of Wagner Bett Set pickups instead. After playing the guitar for the first time, I am really glad we choose the Wagner pickups. We had used Wagner’s on plenty of our guitars before with great success but the Bett Set used here sound absolutely amazing and is a perfect combination for the vintage look and feel of this guitar
